Currently Reading – Self Development & Travel

Here is the latest books I am powering through. I try to get through at least 2-4 books a week depending on how much free time is available after working on my other projects, but I have been dedicating a minimum 2 hours a day to powering through my backlog of books. I was tired of feeling guilty at all the unread books on my shelf and am eager to dive into the massive amounts of value contained within the thousands of pages waiting to be turned. Hopefully anyone following the site can get inspired to read along! I try to balance out my subject matter into a few main catagories to avoid fatigue when diving deep into some subjects. Check out my Top 10 Travel Books and Top 10 Self Development books list as a good jumping off point to some great material to get started with!

Current Self Development Books:

the millionare fast lane self development bookThe Millionaire Fastlane – MJ DeMarco

A very sucessful business friend of mine with good taste in books gave me his copy so I am just getting into it. Heard amazing things.

NoExcuses-Self-DevelopmentNo Excuses – Brian Tracy

Just picked this up after hearing it being recommended online. Seems well laid out so far, and focusing more on sticking to business and goal plans. The book is broken up into 3 parts, I am almost finished part 1. Part 1 covers self-discipline and personal success.  things like goals, courage, and persistence, and how self-discipline is essential to mastering them. Part 2 talks about  how to use self-discipline in business, finances sales etc. Part 3 talks about lifestyle issues like health, fitness, and relationships, and how you can use self-discipline to achieve success in those areas.

Current Travel Books:

the backpacker travel bookThe Backpacker – John Harris

The Supposedly true story of 2 guys traveling all over southeast asia after meeting in India. They impersonate some high rollers and also cross with some of the organized crime elements in SE Asia. Seems like a pretty thrilling read so far, similar to the beach but with events based on a true story. I am only 2 chapters in and hungry to visit both India and Thailand, having adventures of my own.

Current Fun Books:

RonJeremyBook-Self-HelpRon Jeremy: The Hardest (Working Man) In Showbiz – Ron Jeremy

I think this qualifies as a fun read book. Some insane industry info from one of the most recognizable guys in the porn industry. His stories are hilarious and there is a great underlying message on the importance of working hard (no pun intended), believing in yourself and being extremely charismatic. Written in a super tongue in cheek manner it makes it an extremely easy read at the end of a long day.

Just finished reading:

The Travel Book: A Journey Through Every Country In The World –  Lonley Planet: A ton of great travel info in this book on a bunch of countries I would have never thought to have visited. 9/10

The Dip – Seth Godin – A great easy read with some really awesome info focused on identifying when to quit and when to keep pushing yourself in various endeavours, such as business or a creative venture. Recommended on various Self development forums, so I figured I would give it a try. 8/10

That’s all for this week so far, updates coming when my next shipment of books arrives 🙂 in the meantime check out these pages for more:
